Our client is a leading coal producer in NSW’s Gunnedah Basin with a workforce of almost 1,000, and ambitious goals for growth to become Australia’s leading independent coal company.

Chandler Macleod Group were engaged to improve and manage relationships with the local Indigenous Custodians of the land. Our Indigenous Strategy Team created and established the role of an Aboriginal Community Relations Officer who was recruited and selected using specialist attraction strategies and recruitment processes.

Our client provides supply chain solutions and is Australia’s only provider of all services in the ship to warehouse link of the import/export supply chain, with more than 4,000 employees across Australia.

Chandler Macleod were approached to supply 67 Stevedores for a newly acquired site south of Perth, which increased to 216 candidates over 3 months. With a target of 20% Indigenous employees and 10% female employees, Chandler Macleod was given four months to source and assess candidates for the roles. We filled all 216 roles and exceeded our client’s diversity targets.

Our client is an Australian energy solutions provider who was contracted to deliver a large solar farm project in Victoria. Chandler Macleod was contracted to recruit a diverse and strictly local workforce of 300 people. By partnering with key community groups including local Indigenous employment groups we exceeded key targets to deliver a workforce which was 17% Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.

Our client contracted us to source and mobilise over 300 workers across the Fixed Plant and Mobile Plant Maintenance team of their Gold Mine. Our focus was on increasing diversity and local participation whilst increasing retention of the current workforce.

We exceeded diversity targets with a 10% Indigenous, 25% female and 10% local employment and were further contracted to deliver an Indigenous Work Ready Program. This program concentrated on creating new opportunities for local Indigenous entry level candidates.

Our Government client engaged us to provide support for their Aboriginal development and employment program. The program provides opportunities for Indigenous Australians to start their careers, and develop their professional and technical skills in the public service.

Our engagement spanned a 3 year period to source 280 merit listed applicants across three programs. Our focus on community engagement, attending on-site events and running culturally appropriate assessment centres was paramount to our success.
